wash your hands before you pee, or don't, because it doesn't really help that much

Getting going

The 38 plants in the ground are getting going. Hard to get a detailed shot off all of them together. Looks like some are getting shaded in the morning by the asparagus (upper left of left pic).

I fertilized last weekend with Terracycle Worm Poop. Anything with the word poop has got to be good.

Some of the better ones close up. No idea what they are but the are looking good. We finally got some warmer weather so they are really getting some great new growth. I did pluck some leaves from the bottom of the plants they were looking rough and sort of shading the new growth lower on the plants. I have also been picking off the buds to try and get them to grow bigger instead of producing fruit yet.

I think this is a florescent purple....not real sure though. Looks like the leaves are purple and all the new growth is bright green. If I grow this one again it is going on the patio....looks awesome.

Picture of the full garden. Tomatoes in the foreground are doing great....I can hardly even tell the 3 store bought ones from all the rest of the ones started from seed. Cucumbers, zucchini and squash off to the right is not liking all the cooler weather. The should go crazy in the next couple of week with some warm weather. The potatoes in the back and the broccoli (row on the right edge of the garden are doing great!! They love the cold weather. I put down about 4-5 inches of marsh hay on everything including the peppers. The main garden has a couple of soaker hoses under the hay to get the water to the roots.

  1. Very nice Hammerin' Hank! I know who I'm coming to when my plants don't produce. I'm pretty sure that purple plant of yours is the infamous purple flourescent. I have seen quite a bit of purple leaves on my red slims as well so it could be those too.

I've started picking off buds on some of the peppers I bought from Stein. At this point it looks like I'm going to get cayenne, caribbean habs, banana, charleston, and a big maybe on the pepperoncini's and flourescents. Unfortunately the cool weather and lots of rain was very hard on about half my pepper Joe plants :( Regardless I'm having fun and have learned a ton for next year!!
I promise to get pics out here soon... been too busy.

You other clowns need to get some pics out here because Hank's plants are going to put mine to shame!
