Cutting back on plants has begun

Most if not all the seeds I planted came up. Because I planted 2 to 3 seeds per container I've now began cutting back some of the weaker ones. Right now my plants are getting 2 to 3 hours of direct morning sunlight in an east window as shown in my pics. I bought a grow light too so now I'm putting them under the light for the rest of the day.

I know some of you were wondering what kind of root system has developed underneath the soil so I thought I would share what I found. I pulled one of my weaker plants out of the ground and there was one long root(about as long as the plant itself) growing straight down and there was a bunch of smaller feeder roots starting to branch off.

Looks like at this pace I will be transplanting them into small pots in the next couple of weeks.
